Excuse me, is there a bar near here?

Mi scusi, c’è un bar qui vicino?

Yes, you can find one near that shop over there.

Thank you so much!

Grazie mille!

I would like a cup of tea and some biscuits, please.

…And you, sir/mister… What would you like to drink?

…E Lei, signore… Cosa vorrebbe da bere?

I would like to order a cappuccino, if it is possible.

…And for you, young man?

…E per te, giovanotto?

I would like to try that one! What’s it?

Io vorrei provare quello! Cos’è?

That’s a typical cake of Sicilian pastry. It’s called “cassata siciliana”.

It looks delicious! I want to taste it.

Sembra delizioso! Lo voglio assaggiare.

Here you are your tea, sir.

Ecco il Suo tè, signore.

Thank you.

Here you are your cappuccino, mister.

Ecco qui il Suo cappuccino, signore.

Thank you so much. You are very kind.

Grazie tante. Lei è molto gentile.

It’s a pleasure!

E’ un piacere!

… And for you, young man, here you are your “cassata siciliana”!

Hey, it’s so sweet!

Hei, è così dolce!

Could you tell me the recipe, please?

Potrebbe dirmi la ricetta, per favore?

I am sorry, but I am not a confectioner and I don’t know the original recipe.

It doesn’t matter, I will ask my grandma/granny.

Non importa, (io) chiederò a mia nonna.

Is she Sicilian?

È (lei) siciliana?

Yes, she is from Cefalù!

Si, (lei) è di Cefalù!

Oh, I know Cefalù, it’s marvellous place!

Oh, (io) conosco Cefalù, è un posto meraviglioso!

There are a lot of tourists and the food is excellent!
